Tooth Sensitivity
Sensitivity means that you have exposed dentin - the softer, inner core of the tooth that surrounds the tooth nerve. It can become exposed in several ways, including over-vigorous brushing, acid erosion, or receding gums. And since dentin is made of tiny tubules, it allows for stimuli like hot, cold, and sweet to travel down to the nerve center, causing a sharp twinge or pain.
